Molly Schneider

Certified Ananda Yoga® and Meditation Teacher
Molly is an ABEM-certified Emergency Physician, now retired from clinical practice. After retirement, she studied at the Ananda School of Meditation and Yoga® in Nevada City, CA, becoming a certified Ananda Yoga® teacher in 2017 and a certified Ananda Meditation® teacher in 2021. She has additional training in Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Seniors and Bone Strength, and Spiritual Counseling.
Molly teaches yoga asanas (postures) with exceptional attention to proper alignment and breath to allow students to channel their energy safely, effectively, and efficiently through relaxation and flow, never force. Ananda Yoga® is a form of Hatha yoga wherein each posture is coupled with its own affirmation to reinforce the posture's natural effect on one's own consciousness. Each active pose is followed by time in a resting pose to integrate the effects of the previous pose.

In her Yoga Asana classes, Molly mixes Ananda Yoga® with some mindful flows, where one posture will flow to another, creating a dance like connection. Classes are created with the aim for each student to establish a strong foundation on which to build strength, flexibility, and balance of body, mind, and spirit.

In her Yoga Meditation classes, Molly emphasizes a particular form of classical Yoga meditation inspired by the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. Although these specific techniques are thousands of years old, Yogananda expressed them in a way that fits the needs of the modern world. As students practice these traditional techniques, they will likely improve their concentration, reduce stress, calm their minds, and find greater connection with the highest parts of themselves.

She is honored to share the Joy of meditative healing arts at the Balance Yoga Center of Redding.
